This artistic workshop consists of a photography storytelling session for youth to create a living comic book based on the local environment.[7] Historically Porto-Vecchio has used storytelling and visual arts to navigate its relationship with the surrounding rugged nature and coastal forests. The regional identity is explored by using local landmarks and natural sites as the backdrop for modern fictional narratives in a graphic format. Participants experience an educational journey that combines technical photography skills with narrative scriptwriting and acting. The social impact encourages creativity among children and fosters a deeper connection with their territorial landscape through art. For media researchers it provides a document on how traditional storytelling adapts to contemporary visual media formats among island youth. Safeguarding the island’s imaginative legacy through new creative supports is the key goal of this initiative at L’Animu.
