Ringers in Brittany: Artistic Expression

The exhibition ‘Les sonneurs vus par les artistes en Bretagne’ opens at the Musée du Faouët on April 4, 2026, and runs until October 4, 2026. This showcase features over 120 artistic works inspired by the traditional Breton musicians known as sonneurs—players of the biniou and bombarde. Visitors can enjoy a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, ceramics, engraving, photography, and sculpture, all celebrating the integral role of these musicians in Breton culture. Attendees will encounter representations of sonneurs in diverse cultural contexts, from village celebrations to communal festivities.
