The Fest-noz de Kervalet has a setting that matters: Kervalet is a paludier village, close to the salt-marsh landscape that gives Batz-sur-Mer much of its identity. Breton dance and music take on a particular flavor here, surrounded by whitewashed houses, local memory and the culture of the marshes. The evening is built on participation rather than passive watching, with dancers forming lines and circles to live music.
