The Exposition ERRO at the Centre d’art FIAA in Le Mans features the work of Guðmundur Guðmundsson, widely recognized as Erró, a pioneering artist of the Figuration Narrative movement. Born in Iceland in 1932, Erró moved to Paris in 1958, joining a artistic community that included luminaries like André Breton and Marcel Duchamp. His work creatively blends ‘popular’ visual elements with the techniques of celebrated painters, challenging traditional artistic hierarchies. This exhibition presents a detailed view of Erró’s prolific career spanning nine decades, showcasing his innovative collages made from comic books, press images, and advertising. ERRO Exhibition in Le Mans is scheduled for 22 May to 1 November 2026 at 1 Rue Gambetta, Le Mans, France.
