Villefranche-de-Lonchat’s cantonal festival works like a survey of rural public culture: wines, regional products, crafts, tractors, bandas, majorettes, folk dance, herding dogs and traditional wooden games all appear in the same day. Its breadth is the point: local identity appears here as a living mix of agriculture, food, music, sport and village spectacle rather than a single attraction. This breadth prevents the festival from reading like a simple fair. Each element reflects a working rural vocabulary: wine, animals, machinery, music, games and food.
