At Abbaye du Relec, historic postcards from the “Bons Baisers de Plounéour” exhibition reopen a window onto Plounéour-Ménez and Breton life a century ago. A focused visit draws out details in the photographs, captions and messages, from familiar landscapes to the gestures and routines of local communities. Seen within the former abbey, these small pieces of correspondence connect private memory, regional history and the changing image of rural Finistère.
