  • Fête des Bruyères in Beuzec-Cap-Sizun: Breton Celebration

    The Fête des Bruyères is a cherished Breton festival occurring annually on the second Sunday of August in Beuzec-Cap-Sizun. This year, it will be celebrated on August 9, 2026, starting with a traditional mass at 10 am. Following the mass, attendees can enjoy aubades in the Place de la Mairie and partake in a meal at the Kastel-Koz site while experiencing lively sea shanties. At around 2 pm, the Breton Wedding Parade will take place, featuring decorated floats that take a scenic route to the festival area. Performances by local groups, including the bagad de Pouldergat and the cercle de Concarneau, along with folkloric ensembles from Galicia, will delight the audience. The schedule also includes a gavotte competition and showcases traditional music and dance throughout the day. As night falls, the celebration culminates in a grand musical fireworks display at approximately 10:45 pm, followed by a fest-noz led by Sonerien Du. This event is a true celebration of Breton culture, offering a memorable experience for both locals and visitors.
