The Son et lumière show in Chaillé-les-Marais takes attendees through a historical narrative beginning 5,000 years ago when the ocean enveloped the Marais Poitevin. The story progresses to depict the lives of market gardeners up until 1950, featuring live farm animals, traditional homes, and marsh boats. This 1 hour and 45 minutes spectacle involves nearly 180 volunteers who animate the tale. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early; the site opens at 7:30 PM, with entrance closing at 10:00 PM. Un Soir a la Hutte in Chaille-les-Marais is scheduled for 30 July to 2 August 2026 at Étang du Sableau, Chaillé-les-Marais, France.
