Thierry Bénéteau’s spoken tales weave between fantasy and the contemporary world. Julien Evain accompanies them on accordion in this performance for Montluçon’s Dire, lire et conter festival.

The Orchestre d’Harmonie de la région Centre brings together seventy professional musicians and musicians in professional training. Its concert draws part of its programme from George Sand’s novel Les Maîtres sonneurs. Through the sound of the wind orchestra, listeners encounter a musical portrait of the writer, exploring her imaginative worlds, loves and convictions.
Sainte Cécile concert: Châteaudun and Vendôme
Châteaudun’s annual Sainte Cécile concert welcomes the Harmonie Municipale de Vendôme. The visiting ensemble mixes amateur musicians with advanced students and teachers from the École de Musique Territoires Vendômois. Its repertoire spans classics, film scores, jazz and traditional music. Rodolphe GENESTA-PIALAT directs the visiting musicians, while Franck DEROUET leads the Châteaudun ensemble.
Les cinq sens: Talk and Quatuor Béla Concert
Les cinq sens pairs a lecture on medieval sensibility with a string-quartet concert. Nathalie Koble explores ways of feeling, listening and perceiving in medieval culture. Quatuor Béla performs Musiques envoûtées, including works by Meredith Monk and Gavin Bryars. The programme draws on Noirlac’s long reverberation, with pieces conceived for resonance and a Bryars work co-commissioned by the abbey.
Concert Ô Marché : La Tarte à Timbre!
L’Escadron Volant de la Reine brings its Concerts Ô Marché series to the Salle des colonnes in Nogent-le-Rotrou. La Tarte à Timbre! gives this baroque programme its title. Viol, violin, double bass and guitar are among the instruments announced for the series. The free half-hour format is part of the ensemble’s regular local concert activity. The group also organises Les SuPercheries across the Perche.
Sainte-Cécile concert: guitars and the Pizzicat’ strings
The École municipale de musique of Chambray-lès-Tours marks Sainte-Cécile, patron saint of musicians, with a concert in the Salle Marcadet. Its second- and third-cycle guitar ensembles open, on pieces from traditional music and the classical repertoire. The Pizzicat’ string orchestra then travels from the popular feasts of Central Europe to the rhythms of South America, with flute, clarinet and percussion. Admission costs nothing, on reservation.
Christmas Session : le Big Band du conservatoire
The jazz and musiques actuelles department of the Chartres conservatoire ends its year with the Christmas Session, heir to its older Christmas jam. The Big Band takes the stage beside the workshops of the different classes. The programme is left deliberately loose: standards, new finds and improvisation. The pupils and their teachers play together in the Salle Doussineau, and entry is free on reservation.
Concert Ô Marché : l’Escadron Volant de la Reine
The Escadron Volant de la Reine brings its Concert Ô Marché series into the salle des Colonnes of the Nogent-le-Rotrou town hall. The players set out a short baroque programme on viole, violon, contrebasse and guitare, announced under the title La Tarte à Timbre. Entry costs nothing and the set runs about thirty minutes, so it can be caught between errands on the market forecourt. Each date of the season digs into another corner of baroque music.
Anaïs Cassiers à la collégiale Saint-Sylvain de Levroux
Before the Lisztomanias open at Châteauroux, the collégiale Saint-Sylvain in Levroux hosts a recital by Anaïs Cassiers. She plays without an interval, on the themes of water and contemplation. The programme sets Jeux d’eau à la Villa d’Este by Franz Liszt beside Une barque sur l’océan by Maurice Ravel and a Polonaise-Fantaisie by Frédéric Chopin. Cassiers trained at the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, in Olivier Gardon’s class.
