The Chapelle des Ursulines at Lannion hangs the series Solomon Rossine completed after thirty-five years in the town. 77 oil paintings and many drawings came out of excursions made on foot, by bike and by car, always with a sketchbook. Visitors follow what those sketchbooks brought back: the old train station, the streets of Lannion, rain in the countryside. Wayside shrines, Breton festivals and the Pardon give the series its subject.

Agnès Pormenté opens her pastel gallery, Paimpol
Agnès Pormenté works in dry pastel, and she opens the gallery where she shows nothing but her own work. Its four exhibition rooms hold about sixty paintings, nearly all of them landscapes of the country around Paimpol, taken in every season. A trained musician, she carries piano technique across into the pastel, and she lets callers watch how she works. Children from six are admitted, and the visit goes ahead only if two people come.
Taolennou, the painted banners of Mikeal Jestin
Mikeal Jestin calls himself a peinteur, in homage to the craftsmen who painted Quimper earthenware. On the walls of his Plouescat showroom hang his Taolennou, the kind of painted banner once carried around the countryside to tell a story. The tales they carry turn religious as often as pagan, which is to say Breton. Painted on solid panels, they are shown where they are made, and the door opens in summer at weekends or on a phone call.
Jeanne Malivel, from woodcut to Ar Seiz Breur
The Espace Kenere media centre in Pontivy gathers the many-sided work of Jeanne Malivel, mounted with the Association Jeanne Malivel. Visitors move between engraving on wood, furniture, stained glass, textile, ceramics and painting, much of it lent from private collections. Her aim in Ar Seiz Breur was to draw on Breton heritage for an artistic language of its own time. The pieces beside hers were made by schoolchildren working from her motifs.
Il était une fois Barnenez: construction et renaissance
A series of printed panels stands in the open air around the Barnenez cairn at Plouezoch. Some thirty pupils of the classe de 6ème at collège François Charles de Plougasnou made them with the artist Lauranne Guyomard. Paintings, collages, visual creations and graphic montages retrace the cairn’s construction, its oblivion and its renaissance. The panels grew out of lessons on prehistory, megalithism and archaeological conservation.
Concert des anges: Medieval Art in Souvigny
Concert des anges explores musical angels in medieval wall paintings at Souvigny’s Cluniac museum. The exhibition compares vault decoration across nine sites, including the Chapelle Vieille de Souvigny. Photographs and videos show how these images work within architectural spaces. Reconstructed instruments connect the painted musicians with research into historical music and instrument making.
L’art au service de l’Humanisme
L’art au service de l’Humanisme brings together paintings and sculptures by regional artists. Works from the Lions Clubs de France cultural collection appear alongside them. Organised by the Montélimar Mistral and Rives du Rhône clubs, the exhibition links local artistic expression with charitable action. Sales support the clubs’ projects, including the Camp René Cornillon youth exchange programme.
Poterie des Anges Open Studio
Angèle demonstrates wheel throwing during the Poterie des Anges open studio in Andance. Her ceramics are made on the wheel or built from slabs, then decorated by hand with natural oxide colours. Cats, birds, poppies and the tree of life appear among her motifs, drawing on nature and naïve art. Admission to the demonstrations is free.
Artistes amateurs à la bibliothèque Maurice Genevoix
The Bibliothèque Maurice Genevoix in Brinon-sur-Sauldre gives its rooms over to amateur artists from the area. Painting, sculpture and ceramics are shown together, chosen to put local creativity and craft forward. Several distinct artistic worlds follow one another along the way round. Entry is free, and the Office de Tourisme Intercommunal Sauldre et Sologne carries the show among its own dates.
Transforme ton bâtiment en oeuvre d’art à Vicq-sur-Nahon
The travelling Micro-Folie of the Communauté de Communes Écueillé – Valençay sets up in the salle du conseil at Vicq-sur-Nahon. It belongs to the Journées de l’architecture, on the theme «Réhabiliter, bâtir l’avenir». Children from six upwards and adults draw one collaborative sketch, giving new life to the buildings nearby. Windows are redrawn after Van Gogh, facades after Picasso, figures after Munch, in pencil, paint and recycled materials.
