Escales Photos Festival in Locmariaquer: Monochrome Focus

The Escales Photos Festival in Locmariaquer is a must-see for photography enthusiasts and culture lovers. Since 2013, this festival has showcased large-format photographic exhibitions. This year’s focus is on monochrome expressions, commemorating the 200th anniversary of photography in France. Running from July 4 to October 31, 2026, the festival spans six towns around Quiberon Bay, including Arzon and Belle-Île-en-Mer. Works from esteemed Breton photographers Pierre Jamet and Michel Thersiquel portray the region’s rich history and traditions, while reflecting on societal changes over the past century. Their works are complemented by contributions from contemporary artists: Serge Picard, Irène Jonas, Mickaël Pouliquen, and Yoann Segalen.
