The Fête de Saint-Germain de la Mer in Matignon is a celebration of Breton heritage, organized by the dedicated volunteers of ‘Les Amis du Passé en Pays de Matignon.’ This festival takes place on 26 July 2026, starting at 11 a.m. with a mass at the beautiful Chapelle de Saint-Germain-de-la-Mer. Attendees can look forward to a picnic-style meal, featuring refreshing beverages, savory galettes with sausage, and delectable homemade pastries. The musical program includes seafaring songs performed by the Cercle d’hommes de la Baie, offering an authentic glimpse of the region’s maritime traditions. Dance lovers can enjoy traditional Breton dancing showcased by the Cercle celtique de Fréhel in the distinctive ‘avant deux’ style.
