The Fête médiévale – Les Riches Heures de Fougères allows visitors to step back into the 15th century. Hosted by the association Les Fous Gèrent, this lively festival transforms the town into a historical theater. On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., enjoy the Grand Parade of medieval troupes marching from the lower town to the upper part, showcasing the artistic talents of the era. As night falls, the majestic castle of Fougères opens its doors from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. for a grand medieval ball and fest-noz, encouraging guests to dance to the atmospheric music of yesteryears. Craft demonstrations, camp life re-enactments, and a variety of nighttime festivities further immerse attendees in Fougères’ rich Golden Age. This festival attracts history enthusiasts and families alike, offering an authentic escape into a time when every stone in the town witnessed its storied past.
