Concert des Gabiers du Passage places sailors’ songs in the maritime setting of Concarneau’s Ville-Close. The group performs traditional work songs once linked to manoeuvres on tall ships, along with contemporary pieces and French and Breton songs about the sea, distant horizons and port calls. The concert is listed at Carré des Larrons, near Les Halles, with donations welcome. Its category is not generic live music: the repertoire is explicitly maritime, carrying local memory of boats, voyages and seafaring labour through choral performance.
