Pardon de la Clarté centres on the Notre-Dame de la Clarté chapel in Saint-Vennec, where worship is followed by a procession to the fountain. The pilgrimage belongs to the tradition known as Pardon an Teir Vari, linking three Marian sanctuaries in southern Finistère. Pilgrims still dip handkerchiefs in the reputed fountain water and touch their eyes, preserving one of the observance’s most distinctive devotional gestures.
