Matières à patrimoine: How Centre-Val de Loire Builds

Tuffeau, brick, timber and raw earth tell the story of building in Centre-Val de Loire through an exhibition on the materials of its architecture.

About this event

Tuffeau, brick, slate, timber and raw earth shape the architectural story told by Matières à patrimoine. Produced by the region’s Heritage and Inventory Department, the exhibition follows building materials from medieval practice to the present. Flint, metal and cob widen the picture, showing how substances used for both structures and decoration define Centre-Val de Loire’s built landscape.
