Norman-Iranian Photography Biennial in Coutances: Cultural T

The “Norman-Iranian Perspectives” photography biennial features an exhibition at the Espace Saint-Nicolas in Coutances from June 27 to August 30, 2026. Two female photographers—Isabelle Eshraghi and Élisabeth Blanchet Burgot—explore themes of roots, identity, and cultural heritage through their impactful imagery. This inaugural event seeks to provoke dialogue about family memory and the role of women as transmitters of stories within diverse cultural contexts. Alongside the exhibition, attendees can participate in various programs throughout the summer, including analog photography workshops, screenings of Iranian films, a literary gathering diving into relevant themes, and a concert showcasing traditional Persian music. A participatory installation created with students from the Lycée Charles-François-Lebrun will highlight the stories of 27 dedicated Iranian women, enriching the event’s cultural tapestry. This biennial aims not just to showcase art but to foster understanding and connection between different cultures, making it a must-visit for photography and cultural heritage enthusiasts.
