SOZO takes its name from the Japanese words for creation and imagination, and every piece at the Médiathèque Ty Koulm, Plougoulm, is printed by the sun. Cyanotype lays plants on sensitised paper and lets daylight do the exposing; a rinse in water leaves their silhouettes white against deep blue. A fern, a blade of grass, a leaf forgotten on a path: the subjects grow underfoot. Exposure times vary, so blues and shadows shift print to print.
