Wheat Festival in Pleudihen: Local Heritage Celebration

The Wheat Festival, known as “Fête du Blé,” will take place in Pleudihen-sur-Rance, Brittany, on 8th and 9th August 2026. The festivities kick off on Saturday night at 6 PM with the opening, followed by performances by the Tacinelli Orchestra at 6:30 PM, Sheila at 8:15 PM, and M Pokora at 11 PM, concluding with Sound of the Legend at 12:30 AM. Sunday features the 48th Wheat and Old Trades Festival, starting with an open-air mass at 10:45 AM and a gastronomic menu at the onsite restaurant. A grand parade will showcase artisans in period costumes and local Breton dance groups. Festival-goers can witness traditional activities like mowing with sickles, threshing with a vintage steam locomotive, and the making of local specialties such as cider and bread. Additionally, various craftsmen, including beekeepers and bakers, will demonstrate their old trades. The festival highlights not only gastronomy but also the rich Breton heritage and craftsmanship, making it a perfect outing filled with engaging activities and local flavors.
