L’épée et le lys, part of the Festival international d’opéra baroque, presents an expressive evening dedicated to music inspired by Rogier van der Weyden’s masterpiece, the Last Judgement. On July 26, 2026, the English group Fount & Origin, conducted by James Tomlinson, will perform a 1 hour and 15-minute concert exploring themes of heaven and hell, reflecting the poignant motifs of the altarpiece commissioned by Nicolas Rolin in 1443. The concert takes place in the historic Salle des Pôvres at the Hôtel Dieu in Beaune, just before the restoration of this iconic artwork.
