Exposition Le Meunier d’Angibault in Montipouret: Artistic T

Le Meunier d’Angibault returns to its rural setting through an exhibition of illustrations by contemporary Berry artist Céline Alapetite. George Sand’s novel follows Grand Louis, a miller confronting social change while trying to protect his livelihood and family. Questions of class, justice and individual freedom unfold through a landscape where the mill is both workplace and symbol. Alapetite’s images provide a visual response to that narrative without separating it from the material culture of country life. Shown at the Moulin d’Angibault in Montipouret, the project creates a precise dialogue between literary fiction, a surviving place and an artist working within the same regional territory within the novel’s own mill landscape.
