A classroom from earlier schooldays is reconstructed for L’école d’autrefois in Chassignolles. The exhibition looks at learning through that recreated school setting, then turns to the importance George Sand attached to reading and writing. Education and the writer’s convictions meet in a portrait of how literacy formed part of the world she cared about.
