Villa Algira opens a temporary exhibition room within George Sand’s home in Gargilesse. Unpublished archive documents and photographs provide the core material, giving visitors access to traces that are usually absent from familiar accounts of the writer. Seeing them inside the house changes their scale and meaning: private papers and images remain connected to rooms, village and landscape; they do not become detached museum objects. The presentation offers a close encounter with how memory is kept, selected and shared in a place still identified with Sand. Gargilesse and the Creuse valley supply the surrounding cultural geography, while the villa gives that geography a personal center. The exhibition therefore joins archival discovery with the experience of entering a home that remains part of Berry’s literary map.
