Bouchet’s heritage treasure hunt takes children through the old village centre in search of a missing object. In the story, Abbess Rixende of the Cistercian abbey has lost something she needs to decorate the village with flowers. The game is in French, free to take part in and designed for children aged six to twelve.
Ancône: Self-Guided Family Heritage Trail
Ancône’s self-guided trail makes a game of the village’s history. Families follow coloured map symbols through seven stages, collecting mystery letters to solve the final question. Children from the local after-school programme created the quest. The setting preserves the Rhône port’s boatmen heritage, from old quays and mooring rings to the protective dyke.
Culture et Gastronomie in Taulignan
Culture et Gastronomie pairs the Musée de la Soie with Le Café de la Soie. Visitors can tour the museum independently or with a guide and see La marquise s’invite au musée. A specially devised Madame de Sévigné menu continues the visit over lunch or dinner. The programme commemorates the writer’s birth, with the museum visit and meal also available separately.
Montluçon s’illumine
Montluçon s’illumine turns the medieval city into a self-guided heritage walk. Blue ground lights mark a route of nearly one and a half kilometres, linking ten points of interest. Flashing markers indicate where to stop, including the Tour Fondue and place Saint-Pierre. An explanatory leaflet from the tourist office helps families read the history of the places along the route.
Dieulefit Ceramics Walk
A former pottery and three old firing kilns are the stops on Dieulefit’s guided ceramics walk. The route examines the town’s inherited pottery skills and their renewal through the places where the craft was practised. Visits are arranged on request for groups of up to twenty, with commentary available in French, English or German.
Poterie des Anges Open Studio
Angèle demonstrates wheel throwing during the Poterie des Anges open studio in Andance. Her ceramics are made on the wheel or built from slabs, then decorated by hand with natural oxide colours. Cats, birds, poppies and the tree of life appear among her motifs, drawing on nature and naïve art. Admission to the demonstrations is free.
Le grand bal des animaux
Familiar animals from traditional tales gather for an imaginary ball in Le grand bal des animaux. Each creature has a human face and a story of its own, with some proving less than well behaved. Thierry Bénéteau’s spoken tales weave between fantasy and the contemporary world. Julien Evain accompanies them on accordion in this performance for Montluçon’s Dire, lire et conter festival.
Thoissey dans l’objectif: A Photographic Portrait
Thoissey dans l’objectif gathers contrasting views of a town through photography. Its heritage and environment provide subjects alongside the activities that animate its streets. Each image reflects the photographer’s individual sensitivity to the scene. The Club-Photo de Blacé develops this portrait in collaboration with the town and the Amis du Vieux Thoissey et de ses Environs.
Retour des Alpages in Annecy
Retour des Alpages celebrates the descent of livestock from mountain pastures into the valleys. Farm animals and groups in traditional costume parade through Annecy. Craftspeople demonstrate old trades while producers share local specialities. Songs, folk dances and traditional instruments accompany a celebration that Annecy Traditions connects to Haute-Savoie’s farming heritage.
