The ‘Amidst the Shades’ festival presents an expressive evening of Elizabethan music, highlighting the poignant works of John Dowland. The programme features Welsh soprano Ruby Hughes, known for her rare performances in France, accompanied by the skilled lutenist Jonas Nordberg. Together, they will cover the themes of love and melancholy that pervade Dowland’s compositions. Set in the historical Chapelle des Jacobins in Beaune, this 1 hour and 15 minute concert will take the audience on a sensitive musical arc.
