Entre ciel et terre draws on George Sand’s travelogue A Winter in Majorca in an adaptation by Georges Buisson. The reading follows her reflections on leaving, personal burden and the desire for another horizon. Multiple voices preserve the movement between intimate thought and observation of the Mediterranean island, including the wonder and difficulty of a journey far from smooth. A musical setting creates space around the words and supports their changes of mood without turning the text into simple scenic illustration. In Bourges, the musical work returns Sand’s travel writing to live performance and shows how distance sharpened her attention to freedom, discomfort, landscape and self-knowledge through carefully shaped sound.
