George Sand Dendrite Workshop

A hands-on dendrite workshop links ink, watercolour and branching forms with George Sand’s visual practice and Berry landscapes.

About this event

This introductory workshop explores dendrite making with George Sand as its guiding figure. Participants work with ink and watercolour to create branching, landscape-like forms, learning how controlled gesture and chance can meet on the page. The technique offers a practical route into Sand’s visual interests, complementing the literary image through which she is more commonly known. Open to a broad range of participants, the session emphasises experimentation while still giving enough structure to understand the process and its materials. Completed work is intended for later exhibition, allowing individual studies to become part of a shared display. In Mehun-sur-Yèvre, the workshop connects hands-on image making with Berry’s continuing engagement with Sand, showing how a historical artistic practice can prompt close attention to form, landscape and imagination.
