Mon George is conceived as a collective artistic experiment in the spirit of the encounters George Sand organised at her home in Nohant. Invited artists each respond freely to her figure, thought, world or legacy, producing new work in place of a fixed biographical illustration. Different contemporary visual practices meet in a shared space, allowing contrasts in material, scale and interpretation to remain visible. The arrangement recalls Nohant as a place of dialogue among artists while asking what a Sandian spirit might mean for creators now. Visitors can compare several personal perspectives on a writer whose influence extends beyond literature into questions of freedom and artistic exchange. Bourges’s Espace PITA turns the exhibition into both a tribute and an active conversation, shaped by plurality and open responses to George Sand.
Mon George Exhibition
Contemporary artists answer George Sand through new works inspired by her thought, legacy and the creative exchanges once hosted at Nohant.
