George Sand Show in Nohant: Puppet Performance
George Sans S brings the work and personality of George Sand to the stage through the distinctive visual theatre of Les Anges au Plafond. Puppets, signed song and live music give form both to the author and to characters drawn from her novels, allowing biography and fiction to occupy the same performance space. The company is recognised in the puppetry arts, with movement and manipulated figures carrying meaning alongside music and signed song. This version is adapted for Nohant, the place most closely associated with Sand’s home, writing and artistic circle. That setting adds unusual immediacy to a production concerned with how an author survives through invented lives. Its layered design replaces the conventional literary portrait with gesture, voice and material that bring Sand’s imagination into view.
George Sand in Le Châtelet: Music Concert
